On Wednesday, October 28 at 6 pm, the Biblioteca Le Scuole in Pieve di Cento will host the presentation of the book "From Baghdad to Rome. Latif Al Saadi, an Iraqi story" (Prospero editions, 2026). The author Stefano Nanni and the poet Latif Al Saadi will take part in the meeting. The book traces the life of Al Saadi, an Iraqi poet, partisan, activist and cultural mediator: his political commitment, his fight for freedom, his opposition to Saddam Hussein's regime and to the invasion of Iraq, up to his arrival in Rome. The event is part of the series "Leggere il presente: voci e storie per comprendere il nostro tempo" (Reading the present: voices and stories to understand our time), promoted by the libraries of the Distretto Pianura Est. Margherita Carlotti from the Biblion bookshop will talk with the author. Admission is free.
