On 8 November Scandiano celebrates National Unity Day and Armed Forces Day with a public ceremony in memory of fallen fellow citizens. The occasion combines historical remembrance with recognition of the role of the Armed Forces. The ceremony takes place among the town's cemeteries and war memorials, with the laying of laurel wreaths and musical accompaniment by the Fanfara dei Bersaglieri di Scandiano. It is promoted by the Municipality of Scandiano, and anyone who wishes may join the procession at its various stops or pause at one of the places included in the programme.
